Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal. Articles and other encyclopedic content should be written in a formal tone. Standards for formal tone vary a bit depending upon the subject matter but should usually match the style used in Featured - and Good -class articles in the same category.
Our "Cheatsheet" is a good starting point for learning basic Wikipedia formatting. A more complete guide is here. You can take some formatting tips from the standard way Wikipedia articles are laid out. Articles use headings, paragraphs, bulleted lists, etc.

If you have a URL (web page) link, you can add it to the title part of the citation, so that when you add the citation to Wikipedia the URL becomes hidden and the title becomes clickable.
