The 1997 version, why does it even exist? The 50's version was full of wonder and excitement, along with pushing boundaries of what was possible with effects of the time. This version uses stock footage and poor CGI; a stale examination of the sea and its wonders. 20 000 leauges under the sea? It might as well have been a puddle.
