Oct 19, 2019 · After Warner Bros. didn’t sign off on a For You Tour, Prince went to work on his second album. He wrote over 20 songs and entered the Alpha Studios at the end of April, 1979. All recordings were done by June 13th, some six weeks after the recordings had started. Overdubs and the final mix were done at the Hollywood Sound Recorders.
