Here's an update from Inyo SAR FB page. Current conditions on Mount Whitney are still snowy. Yes, it is melting and getting a little less every day, but a lot of snow is remaining, especially in the dangerous sections around the 99 Switchbacks of the Main Trail as well as the Chute on the Mountaineers’ Route.

Jul 22, 2021 · Overnight: Trail Camp (6.3 miles, 12,039 feet) This campsite is where most 2-day (or even 3-day) hikers set up camp. The camp is completely exposed and rocky. There are no assigned campgrounds, hikers are allowed to set up camp anywhere in the area (except when you hit the sign that says no camping beyond this point).
12-16 Hours (Total) 6,960 Total Feet of Climbing. Max Elevation of 14,505 feet. No Dogs Allowed. The Mt Whitney hike is on every hiker's bucket list. At 14,505 feet, it's the highest point in the lower 48 and is one of those rare high peaks that you can hike to without any mountaineering skills.
