Summary: A conspiring Ma Gates comes into town with her misfit son and daughter wanting revenge on Tom Smith who was forced to kill her husband ten years earlier in an arrest shootout. Guest stars include Robert Redford and Gloria Tabott.
The best known of these was Whispering Smith (1948), the first Western for star Alan Ladd (who bears a striking resemblance to Audie Murphy). While the hero of the book and movies was a railroad cop, TV’s Smith (now named Tom) was a more traditional Old West lawman.
