Our Lord is the fourth episode of the Netflix streaming series Three Body Problem . It aired on March 21, 2024.
Jin goes in search of justice as the shepherd abandons his flock. The Oxford Five are floored by a shocking death close to home. Meanwhile, investigators locate a cell of underground extremists whom they suspect of terrorizing the scientific community.
In London, 1982, a young Mike Evans arrives at a restaurant, and is greeted by an already seated Ye Wenjie.The two shake hands, and once seated, Mike tells Ye Wenjie that he was surprised to hear from her. She then goes on to mention how she is only in town for a week for an Astrophysics conference, but that she is glad he remembers her. They both end up admitting to having looked further into one another, with Mike knowing about Ye Wenjie’s father, and she knowing how Mike runs his father’s oil company now. Ye Wenjie seemingly confirms she made it out of her prison, and with Mao Zedong dead, she is now a professor at Tsinghua University. Mike states that nothing has changed with him, and that he is still the same man she met in Shaanxi. When she looks at him in confusion, Mike explains that he just couldn’t continue to spend time in that hut trying to save a subspecies of the northwestern brown swallow. Instead, he figured that he could do more with the resources available to him as heir to his father’s oil company. He then tells her in mandarin how if one is to fight power, sometimes you have to embrace [that] power. Ye Wenjie surprises him by saying she agrees, but after touching his rather expensive looking cufflinks, she asks how he is fighting power exactly. Instead of answering, he asks her why she wrote to him. To which she replies how in nature nothing exists alone. Eventually, she explains how back at the Red Coast Base, she did something.
In the present, Will sighs before he eventually calls Jack Rooney to remind him that his discharge time was an hour ago, and that he’d appreciate a text if he can’t make it to pick him up. Not long after though, Saul arrives sans Jack. Later, Jin and Auggie are with Wade and Detective Shi watching the security footage of Jack’s death; with Jin unable to watch anymore and asking to stop it as she sobs. An equally distraught Auggie embraces her friend and the two sob. Auggie tries to comfort her friend by saying it was not her fault, but that it must be the same woman who knew about her countdown. Wade remarks how Vera Ye recruited the Oxford Five, but now Vera and one of her pet geniuses are dead. Wade then reveals to Jin how he knows about the invitation with three circles on it that she received. He points out to Auggie how it's rather peculiar that with her, they want her to stop her work, but with Jin, they are trying to recruit her to come work for them. Wade then states that Jin has a choice to make, she can go home to mourn her friend and spend the rest of her life wishing she had acted differently that night he died, or she can help those responsible for his murder.
Later, when it is just the two of them, Jin tells Auggie that she thinks the San-Ti are real and that they are in fact coming. Auggie points out that the people working for these aliens are just people like the two of them, and that they have been fighting people their whole life.
Elsewhere, Detective Shi tells Wade that they have found Mike Evans at some Panamax oil tanker, which has not delivered oil in forty years. Detective Shi surmises that this tanker could house at least 1,000 people there. According to the coordinates, it is somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea, 200 miles north of Alexandria.
Aboard the Judgement Day ship, a young girl asks Mike Evans in french if she will live long enough to meet their Lord. To which Mike replies that if their Lord wants them to be there, when they arrive, then they’ll make that possible. Afterall, he tells the little girl how they can work miracles. But if not, then perhaps it is for the best. Afterwards, he is informed by Felix that they have their final roster for the summit in London. Mike asks what happened to Rooney, to which Felix replies that he didn’t work out. Later, when Mike is talking to the San-Ti, he is informed that his enemies know about the summit, they know where Mike is, and are watching him right now. However, the San-Ti tell Mike to not be afraid, as nothing will happen to him or any of them. The San-Ti vow to protect them.
Meanwhile, Detective Shi is at home, and his son is playing some video games. He asks him how the job hunt is going, to which Reg replies that he is an entrepreneur. Clarence tells his son that his job is not about getting rich, but rather of helping people. When Clarence insults Ally by calling him a twat, Reg tells his father that he must take after his mother, and just has terrible taste in men.

Mar 21, 2024 · His “Lord” warns that his enemies know exactly where he is. She promises to protect him and comments on his smile, hinting that the San-Ti can actually see him. It is rather unnerving, and even more-so when Evans reads Little Red Riding Hood to it.
Mar 24, 2024 · “Except our lord is real.” Their gods are an alien race who have developed a human-run, Earth-based support system powered by impossible future tech and Mike Evans’s money.
