Above Ground is an amateurish, clumsy film in the vein of Blood Simple----minus the intelligence. The characters are backwoods idiots, everything that can go wrong does, and nobody trusts anybody. The dialogue, characterization, acting, and story are all substandard. Illogical events and plot holes are abundant.
