The 10th Academy Awards were held on March 10, 1938 to honor films released in 1937, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California and hosted by Bob Burns. Originally scheduled for March 3, 1938, the ceremony was postponed due to the Los Angeles flood of 1938.

'Boys Town' is a dramatic film based on real life events, made in 1938, directed by Norman Taurog and starring Spencer Tracy, Mickey Rooney and Henry Hull. On release the film quickly became a smash hit nationwide and it was voted one of the 10 best pictures of 1938 by Film Daily.
