In December 2013 Johnnie Guilbert and Bryan Stars began to create a collaborative YouTube Channel called "My Digital Escape" or MDE for short. Johnnie Guilbert added fellow YouTubers Alex Ramos, Alex Dorame and Jordan Sweeto to the group, Bryan added Kyle David Hall and now convicted sex offender Austin Jones. With Bryan well-known in the alternative scene for his interviews with band members and involvement in Warped Tour, the channel did pretty well off the bat. Johnnie had also gained popularity through his countless appearances in Bryan's videos and his own Self-Titled YouTube channel.
In 2015, Austin Jones was exposed for being a predator by friend of the channel DamonFizzy and was kicked from the group, then replaced by Luke Wale. Later, Alex Ramos was later removed for lack of posting and replaced by HeyThereImShannon (Shannon Taylor). The timeline - due to countless deleted videos by Johnnie Guilbert, Alex Dorame and Shannon Taylor.
MDE eventually ended up going on a US tour early 2016. My Digital Escape broke up on May 14th, 2016 directly after their Tour due to issues arising and allegations surfacing of Bryan Stars being unethical and manipulative, Financially abusive and living with, taking advantage of and being inappropriate with Johnnie Guilbert when he was a minor (roughly 15/16-18).
Later in 2016 some of the members (Johnnie Guilbert, Alex Dorame, Kyle David Hall, Luke Wale and Jordan Sweeto) created a new music channel named "Our World Away", which is currently on Hiatus and has been since 2017.
