Our township encompasses the City of Alpena and contains 125 square miles of land. Our current population, based on the 2020 Census, is 9,116 with the entire county totaling 28,907 residents. The Charter Township of Alpena was established February 29, 1859.
Administers the Municipal Zoning Ordinance including zoning compliance permits, certificates of occupancy, and site plan reviews. Consults citizens on prospective plans or projects. Performs code enforcement on violations of City Ordinances.
