Arthur H. Singer (16 February 1910 – 19 March 1978; age 68) wrote the teleplay for the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "Turnabout Intruder", based on a story by Gene Roddenberry. He was the Story Consultant for The Original Series during season three, replacing D.C. Fontana, who left after the second season. He was brought in by producer Fred Freiberger, who worked with Singer on other projects before. (Inside Star Trek: The Real Story, p. 393)

Fontana once remarked, that Singer "wandered onto the set and asked our set decorator, "By the way, what does that transporter thing do again?", at which point most of the crew gave up caring." According to Robert H. Justman, Singer was bright and hardworking, but neither he nor Freiberger understood the Star Trek concept, and the resulting episodes suffered.
