about a week ago, my ig was hacked. HOW IT WAS HACKED: I saw a video made by someone I was aquainted with about how they made a lot of money from crypto, and then they posted how they wanted to give money to their followers. I was being stupid and desperate, and engaged with it.
It’s called selfie video verification ! If you have photos of yourself posted you take a selfie of yourself and Instagram officials match it against the pictures on your profile to determine if your the legit owner of said account.
The purpose of this scam is to gain access to your Instagram account which they will then use to scam other people. They may also attempt to blackmail you into creating videos that promote their scam. If you receive one of these messages, ignore it and report the account as hacked.
