JubyPhonic (also known as Juby) is an English speaking Utaite, as well as a professional voice actress and vocalist. She began singing on her channel May 29th, 2012, summer before her last year of high school-- just for some summer fun. But also because social anxiety and panic attacks were making it difficult for her to continue to perform onstage--and she refused to totally give up on something she loved and had been doing since she was little. The arts, creating--art, acting and singing--had always helped her cope, gave her life. So filled with trepidation, she closed her eyes and just gave it a go. As luck would have it, 8 years later she's recorded now more than 300 covers and reached over a million subscribers worldwide. JubyPhonic's YouTube channel has well over a third of a billion views.
Juby wanted to give more visibility to the many young 'bedroom composers' she loves, that speak eloquently through music on so many human, and sometimes difficult topics. She began recording covers, with the hope that singing these works with English lyrics would reach more people around the globe and build appreciation for these heartfelt songs. Since 2017, Juby's YouTube covers of VOCALOID and anime have been translated and subbed by fans in almost 40 languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese. There are even a few translations done in Esperanto.
Besides recording cover vocals and writing her own translyrics/ lyrics, Juby also provides her own subs, creates or directs some of the artwork, makes cover harmonies, mixes audio and edits video. When time allows, she enjoys collaborating on original projects and re-mixes with other artists, composers and musicians. Her real hope though is in time to do more of her own original songs and re-mixes.
Although she often does most of her work alone (excepting the rare duet or collab) in 2015 she started doing more elaborate projects and artistically directing her own paid collaborations, now made possible with the support of her fans through Patreon.com. These time consuming projects can take a few months to a few years to complete. She has also collaborated on projects with various professional and non-professional groups worldwide. Juby often balances directing around 35+ project collaborations on the back burner--that's besides the many she is working on, at various stages of progress. But on the whole, the majority of Juby's covers are typically done in a tough, grueling work week.
Her near 100 hr work week often includes college schoolwork and any professional voice acting jobs, overseeing her channel business and various projects, plus all the work that goes into 'the cover of the week' which often includes: research/lyric writing/vocals, harmony rehearsals and recordings/mixing/subbing/video editing/managing artwork, arrangers, composers, musicians, rights/social media sites and Patreon announcements/mp3 downloads or digital releases...and more. And depending on the problems that surface on that cover, Juby may have a few or all 24/7 pedal-to-the-metal, hard crunch days before a release, before she can finally collapse into a heap to rest...and start all over again. Being a YouTube artist isn't easy. It's a lot of hard work with little to no time off. Juby tries to take breaks when looming burnout and mental health issues become a little too real.
Her voice has a characteristic stability, clarity, and brilliance along with a certain bounce to it. She is also known for being emotionally expressive and touching her fans' hearts. A soprano with a wide vocal range, she records in bright straight pop tones--contemporary pop. Her signature VOCALOID/ anime style varies from piercingly resonant in high pop/rock/electronic, to a gentle, intimate voice for acoustic and and jazz covers in the mid-tones. Juby has been acting and singing onstage plus had vocal training since young. Her theatrical background and voice acting experience contributes to her ability to "become" the character in her covers.

•She started performing in musical theater shows at age 3 and sang in school choirs beginning in elementary. At 12 she was taking private voice lessons---after attending and watching her siblings lessons weekly, since age 4.[6•Besides voice, she grew up taking years of training in stage/ film acting, dance, choir, art & electronic media.
•She took Japanese classes in college, and was part of the Latin Honors Society in high school[citation needed].
•She was in the gifted program through most of her schooling. She made the Dean's & President's List and Phi Theta Kappa in college, and joined National Honor Society in high school. •She took the name "JubyPhonic P" because it rhymed with "Juby comics", which she had been drawing at that time. She added the P "because it seemed right" but switched to just "Jubyphonic" after realizing that the P in her name can also stand for "producer". She was not ready to put out original music at the time.

Like most of Neru's songs, there's always this big cry for help (Ex. Lost One's Weeping, Terror (ism), Abstract Nonsense, everything else) but maybe because some of the lyrics were already in English, this one struck especially hard. Maybe we're all just patched up teddy bears inside... *dramatically looks off into distance*
