Banacek. Banacek is an American detective television series starring George Peppard that aired on NBC from 1972 to 1974. The series was part of the rotating NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie anthology. It alternated in its time slot with several other shows, but was the only one of them to last beyond its first season.
Banacek is a TV series about a freelance insurance investigator who solves intricate and unusual mysteries. The show ran for two seasons from 1972 to 1974 and starred George Peppard as Thomas Banacek, a proud Polish-American with a chauffeur and a bookstore owner as his contacts.
