  1. Aug 7, 2024 · From casual eateries to refined dining destinations, we've shortlisted Singapore's top Chinese restaurants. Singapore has an incredible international food scene, with restaurants offering Japanese, Thai, Peranakan and more. But we’ve got a helluva soft spot for Chinese cuisine (mmm, dim sum).

    • Yue Bai. Chinese. Tanjong Pagar. There are split moments where you’ll feel as if you’re dining in a teahouse within a Chinese garden. Named after a classic Chinese phrase, Yue Bai describes the colour of moonlight and it mirrors the moon in the graceful interiors of the modern Chinese restaurant.
    • Shang Palace. Chinese. Tanglin. The 51-year-old Shang Palace needs no further introduction. Its delicacies speak volumes, evoking a familiar warmth and sense of place to reminiscent memories many find comfort in.
    • Cassia. Chinese. Sentosa. Food here is worth the journey. Acclaimed executive chef Alan Chan flexes his 30 years of culinary experience and explores Haute Cantonese cuisine by adding his own unique flair to time-honoured recipes.
    • Yellow Pot. Chinese. Tanjong Pagar. You already know Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen in Singapore but we've yet to come across one like Yellow Pot.
    • Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant. Here’s one for you Easties: Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy offers affordable and hearty mains that are suitable for sharing among families and friends.
    • Man Fu Yuan. Image credit: Man Fu Yuan. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or spending some quality time with the fam over a meal, consider InterContinental Singapore’s Michelin-recommended restaurant, Man Fu Yuan.
    • Ka Soh. What started off as a humble pushcart stall in the 1930s has now become one of Singapore’s most popular heritage eateries. Located at Greenwood Avenue, Michelin-approved Ka-Soh serves traditional Cantonese-style dishes such as fish noodles, braised duck, and steamed fish.

    • Tong Le Private Dining. The place: This is a place to impress. The views are outstanding and the folks behind the restaurant have made sure that most tables are by the window so there aren’t really any bad seats here.
    • Jia Wei. The place: Done up with a bit of Peranakan flair (think: bright blue walls), the interiors aren’t this restaurant’s strongest points. Its location on the second floor of Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy (entrance is accessible from Roxy Square), away from the glitzy Chinese restaurants in the city, means that Jia Wei is relatively under the radar compared to other restaurants in this list.
    • Man Fu Yuan. man fu yuan. The place: The look of an upscale Chinese restaurant can’t get any more conventional than what you see at Man Fu Yuan. If you look at the InterContinental Singapore as a whole with its bright modern Peranakan motifs or even the snazzy Ash & Elm which can be directly viewed from the 2nd floor Chinese restaurant, the rather modest and homely interiors of Man Fu Yuan brings to mind a simpler time.
    • Yan. The place: Located at Level 5 of the National Gallery, some of the artistic vibe seemed to have latched on the designer’s mind when he/she envisioned the one for Yan.
