I'm unsure if they were intentionally designated to particular guitars. I've owned an '89 Custom since new which has the high output version, in the 12-14K range if I recall.

  7. Aug 4, 2015 · Can anyone explain the difference in sound/tone between the BL circuit board pickups and the PAFs? The HB-L came in two versions (around 9k or around 13k)and PAF´s are around 7-8, so the Lawrence pup is a bit "hotter".
