Adapted from the book by Herbert Jenkins, the movie concentrates on Joseph Bindle (Alfie Bass), an ageing furniture remover and antique seller. In a dream, he remembers a day in the 1920s when he and his work pal Ginger (Johnny Wade) are appointed to move the furniture of Mr. Fawcett.
