Specifically, the BSD license (a permissive one), includes the text: Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer.
However, I've not been able to find any official webpage, etc for the BSD 3-Clause License, where such permission might be. As far as I can see, this licence text is only useable by the University of California, Berkeley, and thirdparty projects derived from their works.
Mar 19, 2018 · I want to use a software which is licensed under the BSD, in my project. I come up with two ways. I create a directory for this component and copypaste the original LICENSE.txt file in this directory, and create a LICENSE.txt file for the whole system in the project directory.
The BSD license is a simple license that merely requires that all code retain the BSD license notice if redistributed in source code format, or reproduce the notice if redistributed in binary format. The BSD license (unlike some other licenses e.g. GPL ) does not require that source code be distributed at all.
