Signed History – Leslie Zinza. In 1975, Leslie Zinza began her career at the California School for the Deaf as a substitute teacher. Three years later, Fall of 1978, Leslie began working as a full time middle school Deaf educator.

When California School for the Deaf relocated to Fremont in 1980 a new tower was built to permanently house the historic bell, where it remains today as a historic landmark.
