Charvel is a brand of electric guitars founded in the 1970s by Wayne Charvel in Azusa, California and originally headquartered in Glendora, California. Since 2002, Charvel has been under the ownership of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.
Charvel had an assistant named Grover Jackson. In ’77, Charvel Manufacturing ran into financial problems, and in ’78, Jackson bought the company from his boss, becoming Jackson/Charvel. That same year, Edward Van Halen brought attention to the name when he appeared playing a Charvel “parts” guitar.
May 5, 2010 · In exchange for helping to turn around the company, Jackson would receive a 10 percent share of Charvel’s Guitar Repair. Over the next year, the new partners worked together but disagreed vehemently about how to move the company ahead and begin building guitars in-house.

Dec 7, 2010 · It is a Ft. Worth Charvel/Jackson with a Kahler tremelo, two humbuckers (not sure of the brand), and a black pickguard. I am guessing it is probably an early 90s model, although I guess it could also be late 80s.
Charvel Jackson Model 6 from first production year. Kahler is working flawlessly, the guitar is in very good shape considering its age. Frets are absolutely fine, small playwear and one dent, the dings and dongs in the finish that are visible are lacquer only. No breaks, no repairs.
