- Wendy's. I used to a much bigger Wendy’s guy. Since the pandemic, it seems like the service has taken a big hit more than any other fast food chain. The 4 for 4 though is a steal.
- Burger King. Surprisingly McDonald’s didn’t make this list. You know they have to do more business than all these others combined. But I get the Burger King coming in so high on the list.
- Taco Bell. There’s always a visit on the way home after The Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party. I like the Baja Blast… and when they stuff Cool Ranch Doritos into their tacos, I’m in Heaven.
Nov 9, 2018 · Not all chains are crap, and some of our locally based ones are actually really worth your time. Here are a few of our favorite Florida-born chains and chainlets.
The United States has more than a dozen fried chicken chains all across the country, each one taking the concept of fried chicken and doing it a little bit differently.
- KFC. This list would not be complete without the kernel. KFC is one of the most recognizable brands on the entire planet, currently operating in over 145 countries in 25,000 locations.
- Wingstop. Wingstop is an unsung hero of the fried chicken game. Although the chicken does not come in the form most commonly associated with the dish, it sells breaded and fried wings, which is qualification enough.
- Pollo Campero. This next chain on the list is the first to come from outside of the United States but has since become available in 18 states plus the nation's capital.
- Popeye's. Popeye's may not have been around as long as KFC or have the same global presence, but it does place higher in this list than KFC. Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen was founded in 1972 in New Orleans.

- Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. > Headquarters: Miami, Florida. > 2018 systemwide sales: $3.2 billion. “Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen’s eight-day chicken sandwich frenzy, ignited with a single tweet,” wrote reporter Jonathan Maze last month in Restaurant Business, “has been bad news for two top rivals: KFC and Chick-fil-A.”
- Zaxby’s. > Headquarters: Athens, Georgia. > 2018 systemwide sales: $1.8 billion. While other chains might specialize in chicken wings or chicken fingers, Zaxby’s offers both, in several varieties, as well as salads not usually found on fast-food menus (the Caesar and the Cobb).
