Crimes of the Heart (full play) ACT 11 The lights go up on the kitchen. It is later that evening on the same day. Meg's suitcase has been moved upstairs. Babe's saxophone has been taken out of the case and put together. Babe and Barnette are sitting at the kitchen table.
Through the initiatives of faculty member Patrick Finelli and theatre student Samantha de Freitas, a small group of students has prepared this production of Beth Henley's CRIMES OFTHE HEART. We all feel that Ms. Henley's writing represents an important current in contemporary U.S. drama.
Meg sits in despair—smoking and drinking bourbon. There is a knock at the back door. Meg starts. She brushes her hair out of her face and goes to answer the door. It is Doc. Crimes of the Heart is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. Originally produced by the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Inc., in February 1979. Crimes of the Heart received its New York Premiere at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1980.
