Shichigoro is the possessor of the Number Two headband and a very skilled swordsman. He has a son named Kotaro.
Afro Samurai: Resurrection
Much like Afro's swordmaster, Shichigoro believes that by hiding the headband he would stop all the killings, but once he meets Afro, he accepts his challenge because he desires to personally kill him for all that Afro did in the past. Shichigoro is eventually killed by Afro, who takes the Number Two headband from him after his death. It is worth noting that Afro didn't really want to kill Shichigoro due to the latter having a background similar to Afro and his father at the beginning of the series. This is manifested through Afro at first confronting him in a formal manner, displaying respect he rarely shows enemies. Shichigoro battles Afro to a standstill, proving to be his equal at the very least. Motivated by his sole purpose to save his father, Afro resorts to deception by pushing the DJ that had appeared earlier towards Shichigoro as he came around a corner and subsequently stabbing through the DJ and into Shichigoro's heart. He is voiced by Liam O'Brien.

Jinno takes Afro's unconscious body to Sio. Sio then takes the number one headband from Afro. She finds the grave of Afro's father, Rokutaro, and takes his jaw, hoping to genetically clone him and make him kill Afro. After his defeat, Afro begins to seek out Sio.

Afro unknowingly saves Shichigoro's adopted son Kotaro and later kills the latter, leaving Kotaro to swear revenge. Afro claims the Number 2 headband and goes on to destroy three cyborg warriors, who turn out to be Sio's foster brothers and sister.
We don’t see that fight but 1 of 2 things can be assumed: 1) Afro defeated Jinno without killing him and the Headband is thrown back into circulation, 2) Afro killed Jinno but since he’s a cyborg, he was able to be revived. This explains why Jinno is still alive in the movie.
