I'm watching the prince of egypt (the cartoon) and I noticed that god kills the first born of every family that didn't smear blood on their door.. This has greatly confused me.. why didnt god just kill the Pharaoh and spare the innocent children?

If anything, this presentation of Exodus is so acclaimed because it gives God and the Plagues this feeling of regret. It doesn't celebrate them as a just punishment for the wicked, nor condemn them as every edgy atheist insists they must be.

Apr 14, 2023 · Ramesses refuses and Moses warns that he will regret that decision. The wide frame places Ramesses’s son in the center of the fresco, below all the Hebrew children being thrown into the Nile. Later, the boy becomes a victim of the tenth plague of Egypt.
Val Kilmer voiced both Moses and God, and the rest of the cast also voiced God (the whispers around Val's main voice). God is shown to be slightly imperfect, regretful when he frightens Moses, and a mixture of soothing, benevolent, and vengeful. A mix of Old and New Testament interpretations.
The Prince Of Egypt is an extremely powerful movie. Amazing visual, score, story, music, characters, and everything else. You need to watch this movie. You will not regret it.
