The Explorers Club has approximately 3,500 members worldwide, with members from every continent and in more than 60 countries. The club differentiates exploration for field science from exploratory travel for tourism.
The basic categories of membership in the Club are Member, Fellow, Friend, Term, and Student. Membership category is determined by the Membership Committee, not by the Sponsor or the Applicant. Here are the guidelines that the Membership Committee follows:
