The islands lie along the Florida Straits, dividing the Atlantic Ocean to the east from the Gulf of Mexico to the northwest, and defining one edge of Florida Bay. The southern part of Key West is 93 miles (150 km) from Cuba. The Keys are located between about 24.3 and 25.5 degrees North latitude.
- Alligator Point. Located in what is known as Florida’s Forgotten Coast, this Gulf Coast gem is a haven for nature lovers and a quiet beach community away from the hustle and bustle of some of the state’s more touristy destinations.

- Bahia Honda Key. Unoccupied Bahia Honda Key sits in the lower Florida Keys and is home to the Bahia Honda State Park. This is a beautiful place to camp during a Keys getaway for those who don’t mind “roughing it” a bit.
