Jul 15, 2016 · Reminding us of two of the greatest Westerns in the last 25 years – Eastwood’s Unforgiven and Costner’s Open Range – Forsaken may be small scale and small ambition, but it knows exactly what it’s trying to do, and it does it very well indeed.
Forsaken stars father-son duo Keifer and Donald Sutherland, and marks the first time that the two have shared a scene together on the big screen. Kiefer is John Henry, who is - you guessed it - a weary gunslinger returning to the small town home of his father, who happens to be the preacher.
The film received mixed reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 43% rating based on 40 reviews. Metacritic gave it 56/100 points based on 16 critics, labeling it "mixed or average".

Overview. John Henry returns to his hometown in hopes of repairing his relationship with his estranged father, but a local gang is terrorizing the town. John Henry is the only one who can stop them, however he has abandoned both his gun and reputation as a fearless quick-draw killer.
