Gus was first married to Ellen Toner. His second wife was Elinor (Hane) Doeden, she having first been married to Kenneth Doeden. Although Elinor's date of death is inscribed on Gus' marker, her ashes are interred in the Sherwood Cemetery with her son Donald.
