"Welcome to Horrorland" is the tenth episode and season one finale of the Disney+ and Hulu series Goosebumps.
The teens return from their Seattle trip to discover that their loved ones are in grave danger and they must band together to save Port Lawrence from a new evil that's taken over the town.
In 1879, Kanduu, then known as Rupert, was fighting in a war when he is fatally shot. He finds himself in a cave where he reads the inscription on the wall which heals him and gives him his powers. In 1885, he comes across a failing carnival owned by puppet maker Franz Mahar. He shows his powers off to him and offers to make his carnival a success if he helps build a tower for him. One year later, Franz is horrified to find Kanduu turning people into puppets for a grand sacrifice to be made on a tower that he had built. Franz finishes building the Slappy puppet and, using Kanduu's own magic, seals him away, but also gets stabbed to death by him.
In the present, Isaiah, Margot, James, and Isabella are still reeling from Lucas suddenly returning to Port Lawrence and decide to head back. In Port Lawrence, Lucas finds the town empty and returns home to see his father, Dennis, alive and well. He claims that he was in the witness protection program and is ready to resume his life with him. Just as Lucas accepts this, this turns out to be an illusion by Kanduu who had just turned the entire town into puppets and does the same to Lucas.
The rest of the teens return with Isaiah finally deciding to tell Margot that he has feelings for her, but accepts that she is not ready to give him a direct answer. As they all head home, they suddenly encounter happy moments that, such as Isaiah getting a football scholarship and Margot's parents getting back together. They all see through the illusions and flee, trying to look for Lucas. The teens follow him to the school where they learn his fate and they are all captured by their parents who have all been turned into puppets.
The teens are reunited with Bratt, who is the only one still normal, and Kanduu reveals himself and his backstory. The reason for the large sacrifice is so that he can allow monsters to enter this world. Believing that if humans had another enemy, there would be no need to start a war with each other. The teens do not believe this is the answer and Kanduu leaves them in the "care" of Fifi. Bratt kills Fifi and admits that he was responsible for the events and that he is a direct descendant of Mahar who had written in a book how to defeat Kanduu.
Just as Kanduu is to set alight the spire with the Port Lawrence residents on it, the teens unveil Mahar whom they supposedly brought back to life with magic. Rather than help the teens, Mahar decides to help Kanduu instead and burns the spire. However, this turns out to be an illusion that the teens used against Kanduu, but he manages to break free from it and uses his magic to entrap everyone. Isaiah discovers that the book can cut through the magic and Margot reads the spell aloud to strip Kanduu of his powers, turning him back into his soldier appearance. As the ghosts of his past rise up and drag him into the earth he fires his gun at Margot, but Isaiah jumps in the way.
All the Port Lawrence residents return to normal and escape before taking Isaiah to the hospital. The nurse reveals that the gun shot was fatal and that all they can do is make him comfortable. Margot starts to speak with Isaiah privately and admits that she does love him and does not want to lose him. As he flatlines, Margot uses the spell book to bring Isaiah back to life successfully. Bratt, still tormented by his actions, goes into the bathroom to wash his face, only to be greeted by Kanduu in his reflection. He mutters, "not again".
