Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge has over 40 miles of earthen road trails available for hiking as well as several elevated boardwalks. Please note that cell signal is limited around the refuge, so we advise familiarizing yourself with the trail map beforehand.
Trails. Visitors may enjoy the refuge trails through four entrances: Portsmouth Ditch Entrance, Jericho Lane Entrance, Washington Ditch entrance, or Railroad Ditch Entrance (also known as Lake Drummond Wildlife Drive). Each entrance boasts several miles of road-trails for hiking or biking.
