    The graphic novels came first. The Netflix animated seriesis a mix of stories adapted from the graphic novels and original tales using the characters and world that were created by Luke Pearson.

    The Hilda graphic novels are made to be suitable to a younger audience. The Flying Eye Books website lists them as being suitable for ages 5-11. Although, some scenes might be a little scary for on the younger side but nothing that’s too serious.
