     The server runs from the current working directory from which PHP was started. This is the document root and all scripts are served from there. The path should show up in the console when you start PHP.

     $ php -S 127.0.0.1:8080-

     The terminal will show something like

     PHP 5.4.0 Development Server started at Thu Jul 21 10:43:28 2011Listening on 127.0.0.1:8080Document root is /path/to/rootPress Ctrl-C to quit

     In this example, /path/to/root is the doc root. To access your script,

     • create a new folder within the doc root and call is something like scripts.
     • In this new folder, place your curly.php
     • Start the PHP server php -S 127.0.0.1:8080 -t scripts/. this will now make your new folder the doc root.
     • Go to the script in your browser: http://localhost:8080/curly.php

     Bonus

     If you want a default "home" page to open when you go to http://localhost:8080, just add a file named index.php in your /scripts folder

     Going by the warning:

     Function declared in a loop contains unsafe references to variable(s) 'i'

     Since your while-loop has only one function declaration (per iteration) we can assume that the following code is the problem:

     (day) => selectedDays.push( moment() .day(day + frequency * i) .toDate() )

     The reference to i within the arrow function triggers the warning, because the JavaScript linter does not know when/where the declared functions are called.

     When looking at the no-loop-func

     rule examples:

     for (let i=10; i; i--) { var a = function() { return i; }; // OK, all references are referring to block scoped variables in the loop. a();}

     You can see that you can resolve this warning by using block scoped variables. When applied to your current code, it might look like this:

     while (moment(endDate).isAfter(interval)) { // store the value used by the function in a block-scoped constant const period = frequency * i; days.map((day) => selectedDays.push( moment() .day(day + period) .toDate() ) ); // ...}

     You should also avoid the use of map()

     if you are not going to use the return value. For just iteration use forEach()

     or a for...of

     loop.

     Another option would be to not declare a function at all, this can be done by using for...of.

     while (moment(endDate).isAfter(interval)) { for (const day of days) { selectedDays.push( moment() .day(day + frequency * i) .toDate() ); } // ...}

     The above removes the function declaration completely.

     This usually happens when/if you're running a Python script in a non-interactive way, for example by running it from an editor.

     /favicon.ico is one of the artifacts of the Browser Dark Ages (cca 2000). While there is no way to prevent the browser requests, creating a 0-byte file named favicon.ico ends the flow of 404 errors (as the file exists), but no favicon will be shown by the browsers for your site.

     Johan Petersson provides a good answer to preventing file not found errors without using a favicon at http://www.trilithium.com/johan/2005/02/no-favicon/

     Placing the following code in the Virtual Host section of httpd.conf (or wherever you define your site environment), should stop the errors appearing in the Apache error log:

     # Don't bother looking for favicon.icoRedirect 404 /favicon.ico# Don't bother sending the custom error page for favicon.ico<Location /favicon.ico> ErrorDocument 404 "No favicon</Location>

     Alternatively, you can create a blank file and name it favicon.ico, placing it in the root directory of the site.

     You need to look at Click Once Deployment.

     ClickOnce is a deployment technology that enables you to create self-updating Windows-based applications that can be installed and run with minimal user interaction. Visual Studio provides full support for publishing and updating applications deployed with ClickOnce technology if you have developed your projects with Visual Basic and Visual C#.

     This creates a downloadable setup exe which you load up to the web. The user either runs this in place or downloads and runs it. This wraps your exe in the code that will check the web location (at a frequency of your choosing) for updates. If it finds one it will install it for the user.

     You don't have to make any special changes to your code to enable this. beyond incrementing the version number. Just modify and extend your code as normal, compile, build, package and upload.

     One thing to note is though that ClickOnce doesn't support installing applications that require administrative access:

     ClickOnce deployment enables non-administrative users to install and grants only those Code Access Security permissions necessary for the application.

     So if your application requires admin level access to run or even install then it's not the solution for you.
