    HowManyOfMe.com is owned by Auron Technologies LLC and launched in 2006. It was covered by the blog Neatoramaon October 17th, 2006. Over the following thirteen years, the site saw some mention on blogs as a fun page to check out.

    In August of 2019, the site became very popular on Reddit as people used the tool to look up names of popular fictional characters to see how many people in the U.S. shared the name, and then paired the result with a reaction image.
