Juan Ruiz (born c. 1283, Alcalá, Spain—died c. 1350) was a poet and cleric whose masterpiece, the Libro de buen amor (1330; expanded in 1343; The Book of Good Love) is perhaps the most important long poem in the literature of medieval Spain.
