Apr 28, 2021 · New tsunami modeling using a large earthquake scenario along the Cascadia subduction zone is now available for all areas within the Puget Sound and parts of the Strait of Georgia, some of which had not been modeled before.
Based on tsunami inundation models, these maps are used to create evacuation maps and guide tsunami-related emergency response and land-use planning. Tsunami evacuation maps show the coastal areas from which people must be evacuated to avoid harm from tsunami waves.
