Mar 28, 2020 · The late Judge Jim Butterworth was honored Friday with a portrait that will be displayed in the Habersham County magistrate courtroom to honor his years of service. Practically the entire Habersham County legal community was on hand to celebrate along with Butterworth’s family.
Colleagues are remembering former Habersham County Chief Magistrate Judge Jim Butterworth as a Southern gentleman and one of the best mediators around. Butterworth died Saturday, March 28, at age 77. “I can tell you he was a wonderful gentleman,” said Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Courts Chief Judge Russell W. Smith.
