Aug 4, 2023 · Professor Davis taught gospel music at Northwestern, DePaul, and Loyola University. He helped found the Northwestern Community Ensemble. He sang and accompanied singers. He brought Chicago gospel music to Sweden.
The late L. Stanley Davis, a Chicago gospel music icon, was an alumnus of Northwestern University (WCAS ’74, Comm ’97) and co-founded the Northwestern Community Ensemble (NCE), the premiere and only gospel choir on campus.
