Laura Anne Kalpakian (born June 28, 1945) is an American author. She has also published under the pen names Juliet Fitzgerald and Carenna Jane Greye. She is known for her work in the memoir genre.
When a UCSD professor told her she had too much imagination for grad school, she turned to the writing of novels. She is the mother of two sons, Emmy award-winning film and television composer, Bear McCreary, and singer-songwriter and music producer, Brendan McCreary. She lives in the Pacific Northwest.

It paid for a new roof and bought our first computer. On tour with the book, I met people who have remained friends ever since.
