This vast parkland of 8,020 acres is comprised of Sam McDonald, Pescadero Creek, and Memorial county parks. The park contains a significant amount of forest and watershed related resources. Pescadero Creek, which flows all year round, is a major steelhead spawning stream.
The 499-acre park, open all year around, provides picnic sites, group and family camping, group picnic areas, park store, creek swimming, hiking trails, interpretive center, summer naturalist service and campfire program.

Memorial Park Campground. Memorial County Park along Pescadero Creek is a forested retreat not far from the coast. Many campsites in Memorial Park Campground are among the redwood trees and all sites are within easy walking distance of Pescadero Creek. A swimming hole there is popular in the summer.
The old-growth forests of Memorial County Park have been favorite family camping grounds for generations. This popular park has trails, campsites, group camps, a visitor center, nature trails, and 673 acres to explore. Acquired by the County in 1924, Memorial is the oldest County park.
