I have tried naming my chickens [163] for legendary fish. It automatically changes the chicken name to 163. I also tried " [163]" and it still changes the chickens name to 163. But no item spawns in my inventory. The chicken makes it to my farm but no item. I'm super broke.

You can use symbols when you name your animals. Use the = key to get a star in the name & + for a smiley face (not sure about the console equivalent). Further to #4, if a really stubborn animal is in your way, you can move them by clicking on their change/barn coop button & cancelling it out.
