In winter, go inner tubing on one of the designated sledding lanes or the open sledding track. Enjoy the refrigerated ice rink, hiking (8 km) and snowshoeing trails (3 km) as well as cross-country ski trails (16 km).
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same person behind New York's Central Park, Mount Royal Park boasts miles of trails and superb views of the city. Here, you can stroll down the tree-lined paths and recharge with a picnic on the grass by Beaver Lake.

May 25, 2023 · People use the mountain every day as the perfect escape from the city bustle. It’s a place to jog, walk, hike, bike, skate, cross-country ski, snowshoe and toboggan. In the summer there are even rowboats for rent at Beaver Lake, and for winter, there are ice skates for rent at the Beaver Lake Pavilion.

You can drive up to the lake and there is paid parking available. The address is : 1260 chemin Remembrance Montreal H3H 1A2 (the gray box just off Chemin Remembrance located to the left of the lake is the parking lot)
Public Transport
The closest metro station is Mount Royal and from there you can take Bus 11 If you find yourself on the Park Avenue side of the mountain, you can also take Bus 80 or Bus 129
Walking
My favourite way of enjoying any city is by walking and Montreal is definitely a great cityfor that. You can get to the lake easily by walking up the hill from downtown. Come summer, the park welcomes visitors to go paddling on Beaver Lake, rent a remote-controlled sailboat, or stay on dry land and explore the trails.
