Nigel George Planer (born 22 February1953 in London) is an Englishactor, novelist and playwright. He was educated at Westminster School, the University of Sussex at Brighton, and LAMDA.
Planer was the reader of the first unabridged audiobook editions of many of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. He also appeared in the television adaptations of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather and The Colour of Magic , and performed as a voice artist in the games Discworld 2 and Discworld Noir .
In my own experience, I've always felt the transition from Nigel to Stepen was indicative of the novels becoming more refined and pointed in their commentary. Nigel gave the characters kind of a dopy slow air, whereas Stephen is very snappy and quippy.
Feb 1, 2022 · Planer is most famous for his role as Neil the hippie in the comedy series The Young Ones, and as part of the Comic Strip ensemble of alternative comedy performers who spawned it. He is also a prolific stage and screen actor, appearing in musicals and one-man shows.
All audiobooks narrated by Nigel Planer have been removed from U.S. digital markets. Hey folks, just checked Audible and iTunes and they are all gone. (Save three on iTunes) That’s nearly every book off the market at this point. I hope it may be because of remastered versions coming soon with better quality.
