Writer, Producer. Born in Burnley, Lancashire in 1960, Paul Abbott grew up in a crowded working-class household, the ninth of ten children. After his mother abandoned the family when he was nine, to be followed by his father two years later, the children were left to fend for themselves, with the eldest daughter assuming the maternal role.
Paul has three children and has been married four times. His oldest child, Tom, is a police officer. Tom and Abbott’s oldest daughter, Annie, were born to his third wife Saskia.
