Located 5.3 miles west of Route 65 on Branson’s strip (Route 76), this 1,534-acre area invites visitors to take a walk on one of several trails that cross this mostly forested site and enjoy the natural beauty that has drawn visitors to this area for generations.
The Paul and Ruth Henning Conservation Area offers those in the Branson area a chance to escape the tourism and entertainment crowds and landscape, and have access to a few hikes of varying difficulty levels, as well as just a chance to take in the views and catch a breath of fresh air.

Our family (with kids ages 8 and 10) had a great hike through the conservation area! Three trails with signs to lead the way. Beautiful waterfalls and cool, clear streams.

Nov 1, 2023 · Start with a story about a man named Jed, add a touch of classic Ozark literature, throw in trails, glades, and vistas, wrap them up inside 1,500 acres within the city limits of Missouri’s music capital, and you get the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area (CA).
The area includes 1,509 acres of oak and hickory forest and was named after Fiery Fork Creek, which flows into the Niangua River. Hiking trails on the area vary in length from 0.25 mile to 1.25 miles and offer ideal opportunities to view wildlife in its natural setting.
