Nov 17, 2020 · Sabbaticals are a powerful tool to address the deep issues of leadership. They can positively impact the mental, emotional, and spiritual health of church leaders. Taking time to step away from ministry can help a pastor recalibrate priorities, seek God in an unhurried way, and clarify what is really important.
Most Sabbatical leaves include study, spiritual retreat and rest. Penn Southeast Conference has a tradition of encouraging a three-month Sabbatical pe riod after six years of ministry. This stipulation is included in the PSEC Standard Call Agreement.

Jan 14, 2014 · A sabbatical is an unearned gift, just like the gospel. I didn’t deserve it, but boy did I need it. Time away forced me to appreciate that my relationship with God is more fundamental than any accomplishment for God. Sabbaticals are a gift to the church. Ours gave the church an opportunity to love our family and remember that we need Jesus too.
