In testing the nib out and comparing the two, along with a Sailor Extra Fine (Tomoe River, Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black), the Saibi-Togi definitely does write noticeably finer than the UEF, though at the cost of smoothness.
Oct 22, 2017 · If you want to stick with OEM, Sailor still offers a UEF-equivalent called the Saibi-Togi, but it’s considerably more expensive (and by some accounts higher maintenance). If you’re happy to have a nib that’s slightly wider, of course you can buy a perfectly standard EF from Sailor, Pilot or Platinum, and be satisfied.

Sep 28, 2011 · Sailor Saibi Togi (8) This wonderful nib is fitted into the full size 1911 pen body, and is the classic design and feel with nothing extravagant to detract from the nib. I love the simplicity and elegance of a black resin with rhodium trim. It really doesn't stand out among the Japanese Urushi, but then again it doesn't have to.
Sailor's version of this really tiny nib has a "Saibi Togi" tip. Saibi Togi is a specialty grind that comes to a very small point that contacts the paper. It requires a very light touch, and it will always feel scratchy. Sailor has even included a special tool in the box for flossing the tines.

Feb 6, 2017 · Saibi togi, the .12mm ultra extra fine nib is restricted only to the single Professional Gear Slim Red Pearl model and we do have these available. In addition, production of Bespoke Naginata Togi 1911 Standard pens with 21kt nibs has been discontinued.
