Season Nine (2019) is the ninth ranked season in League of Legends. Preseason started on November 20, 2018 with patches V8.23 , V8.24 , V8.24b . The first patch of this season's patch cycle was released on January 9, 2019 ( V9.1 ).

In Wild Rift the Victorious skin line is replaced by the Glorious line as the ranked reward. Starting in Season 13, there are now 2 Victorious skins for each split. Victorious skins can now be obtained by players of any rank, so long as they meet the summoner point requirement.

"From the shattered ruins of your promos, the Darkin Blade rises (if you’ve reached Gold or higher in Summoners Rift Solo or Flex, or Twisted Treeline).
