Summary. Analysis. Capulet and Paris enter with a servant, Peter. Capulet is telling Paris that he and Montague have sworn to a peace agreement and expresses hope that they will be able to keep to its terms. Paris says he, too, hopes the men can stop living “at odds.”

Paris also expresses his desire for the men to cease their discord. Paris then inquires if Capulet has considered his "suit"—Paris wishes to marry Capulet's daughter, Juliet.
Shakespeare was probably emphasizing how crazy these Italians were by making Juliet so young. Plus, he'd like Juliet to be on board with all this. But he says Paris can talk to his daughter at the annual Capulet bash that they're holding tonight at his house—maybe Juliet will fall in love with Paris.
