Aug 13, 2021 · A new search is underway at the spot along the Columbia River called “Tena Bar,” where money from hijacker D.B. Cooper turned up 41 years ago.

Dec 12, 2015 · The obvious purpose of the levee is to keep the Columbia River water and the Vancouver Lake water separate. The Flushing Channel was apparently completed in the late 1970s and the Tina Bar money was found in early 1980.
He found that between the 1971 hijacking and the 1980 money find, the Columbia River was dredged and sand had been deposited on Tena Bar in 1974. Palmer's report determined that the money was in a layer of top sand laid down by the dredging.
Cooper had a motor home/RV and a trailer in the vicinity of Tena Bar, his command center if you will. There are RV parks in the area, which were probably there already in the early 70s. He also had a boat waiting somewhere on the shore of the Lewis River.
