The developers did great, making the initial boss King Slime the easiest and the final boss Moon Lord the most difficult at the end, but each of the 19 main bosses in Terraria has the timing and abilities to make a straightforward ranking difficult. - Moon Lord. Defeat all four Celestial Pillars. Use a Celestial Sigil (after the Golem has been defeated) Moon Lord is the hardest boss undoubtedly within Terraria.
- Empress Of Light. Defeat Plantera. Kill a Prismatic Lacewing (critter that spawns on the Hallows surface from 7:30pm to 12am) This Hallow-exclusive boss may resemble an angel, but don't let that fool you, for she is menacingly powerful and dangerous.
- The Lunatic Cultist. Defeat Cultists that appear near the Dungeon entrance once the Golem has been defeated. The Lunatic Cultist is a Hardmode boss that occurs after Golem.
- Duke Fishron. Use a Truffle Worm as Bait while Fishing. Duke Fishron is a Hardmode boss and that is an understatement. While he can be summoned once Hardmode is initiated, he is significantly more difficult than most Hardmode bosses and will generally require post-Golem gear.

- King Slime. This bouncy blob of blue can be summoned using a Slime Crown or once you’ve killed 150 slimes during a slime rain (a random event where slimes fall from the sky).
- Eye of Cthulhu. If you have over 200 HP and at least 10 defense, and you’ve got three NPCs all living in Terraria housing, then there’s a one-in-three chance of this boss spawning at the beginning of each night cycle.
- Eater of Worlds. The Eater of Worlds is only found in worlds with corruption chasms (an evil biome). It will naturally appear after every third Shadow Orb is broken or when Worm Food is used.
- Brain of Cthulhu. If the eye wasn’t enough, then this floating monstrosity will appear after every third Crimson Heart is broken or after using a Bloody Spine – very apt.
